A colleague and myself have started a photo club for interested students at our school. When discussing our next project the dreadful topic of self-portraits was brought up. We discussed how often we manage to stay behind the lens as a way to avoid being in front of it. I've never minded being in pictures but have never had any interest in myself as the subject of a photo (my "selfies" often have a greater focus on my lovely labradoodle opposed to myself). This assignment was definitely provided an element of challenge. I sought to capture what I believed was a proper portrait, or window into an accurate representation of who I am. At first I was reluctant to post the result, however due to the challenge it represented I felt it was meaningful to share. This is me.
Documenting life events is one of my favourite things to take part in. Thanks to this lovely family for allowing me to document the sweetest thing, new life. Enjoy. |
AuthorPhotography is something that I have found peace and enjoyment in for many years. I feel privileged to be able to share my work and my passion with others, helping them create memories and moments that can be remembered and cherished untouched by the forgiving cruelness of time! Archives
